We have implemented several Security Features that are designed to safeguard your accounts and your personal information. We also strongly suggest that you follow our Security Recommendations to help keep your internet activity as secure as possible.

Security Recommendations
  Pay special attention to the URL addresses (http://www.nbofi.com) that websites link to. The only method to insure that cross-site scripting does not take place is careful observation on your part.

  When linking to a secure site, be sure the Secure Site Icon (Internet Explorer - Gold Lock, Netscape Navigator - Gold Key) is in place.

  If you are using Microsoft Windows, turn off file and printer sharing or risk opening your PC to access over the Internet.

  Keystroke loggers capture each character as they are typed in. Consequently no matter the level of security at the other end, UserIDs and Passwords can be compromised. Do not attempt to sign on to Internet Banking from any computer other than your own.

  Personal firewalls are recommended if you utilize an “always on” broadband Internet connection (LAN, cable modem, or DSL). Personal firewalls may not prevent individuals from accessing your computer, but a personal firewall should notify you if access is attempted.

  Use passwords with combinations of alpha and numeric characters (i.e. “sECURE1” instead of “secure”).

  DO NOT give out any passwords or account numbers online, except while banking.

  DO NOT store Internet Banking IDs or passwords on your computer

  Always use encrypted e-mail to send confidential information.

  Always clear your history.

  Use virus protection software that receives regular updates.

  You will be automatically logged off after a period of inactivity.

  A 4 character PIN is required.

  After several failed attempts to logon, your logon will be suspended.

  The system will display last logon message, so that you may confirm that you were the last user.

  You are required to use the highest available encryption level (128bit) browser.

  We will never e-mail passwords or account number(s).

  We will never ask for your password or account number(s) in an e-mail.

  We will always use digital certificates when we send you e-mail.

  E-mails we send will always contain legal disclosures protecting the e-mail's contents.

  Input errors or misuse of the service.

  Negligent handling or sharing of passwords leading to unauthorized access to accounts

  Leaving a computer unattended during an online banking session without clicking “Sign Off” to end your session.

  Failure to report known incidents of unauthorized account access within 2 business days.

  Electronic viruses that you may encounter.

  Anything other than our gross negligence or intentional misconduct in performing Private PortraitSM Internet Banking or Bill Payment Services.

We may occasionally wish to contact you at your e-mail address to inform you of accounts and services that may benefit you. You have choices when it comes to learning about new offers and services. You can choose not to receive notification by e-mail about any offers. Whatever your preferences, we will honor your request. To avoid receiving any future e-mail offers, you may indicate your preference directly on the e-mail you receive.

Use of Private PortraitSM
You agree that your use of this internet site shall be governed by all applicable Federal laws and the laws of the state of Indiana.

Authorized Users Only
Any unauthorized attempt to enter the secured Private PortraitSM is prohibited by federal laws and will be immediately reported to law enforcement authorities.
