CLIENT PRIVACY POLICY
POLICY
STATEMENT
The National
Bank of Indianapolis is dedicated to maintaining high standards
of client confidentiality. We recognize that clients provide us
with private financial and personal information. We are committed
to maintaining the confidentiality of that information. We will
not compromise established relationships between the bank and our
clients by disclosing personal information to any third party for
independent use. Our clients are not only protected by federal and
state laws, but by the Bank’s commitment to our Client Privacy
Policy.
RECOGNITION OF YOUR PRIVACY CONCERNS
The National
Bank of Indianapolis considers the privacy of each client’s
personal information to be an important element of public confidence
and trust. We are committed to safeguarding that information. Our
goal is to keep your information strictly confidential whenever
possible.
COLLECTION OF CLIENT INFORMATION
We receive
a great deal of information about you. Some information comes directly
from you on applications and forms. We also accumulate information
in the course of our business relationships and transactions with
you. The National Bank of Indianapolis maintains this information
and data for several reasons.
We have learned
that the more we know about our clients, the better we can understand
their often unique financial needs and thus provide them with superior
products and services.
There are some
cases where we gather information to comply with laws and regulations
governing the financial industry. For example, we are required by
federal regulations to obtain a tax identification number for many
of our accounts, including all savings, checking, and investment
accounts that pay interest.
We also use
some of your client information to positively identify you to prevent
access to your accounts by unauthorized individuals.
The Bank will
not use "cookies," or any other means to gather information
about your Internet habits and preferences, or to obtain information
from your computer about you. The Bank only uses "cookies"
as a security feature to track the time you are visiting our Web
site.
The National
Bank of Indianapolis will not collect or retain any client information
unless the Bank has a legitimate business purpose to do so.
ACCURACY OF CLIENT INFORMATION
We are committed
to maintaining complete and accurate information about our clients.
We employ strict measures, consistent with reasonable commercial
standards, to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness
of client information. If you believe any information we have about
you or your account may be incorrect, please notify us immediately.
We will take prompt action to make all appropriate corrections.
ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
Security standards
are in place to prevent client information from being accessed by
unauthorized persons. Employee access to your information is also
restricted to legitimate business purposes. Employees are charged
with the responsibility to safeguard your information from unauthorized
use.
DISCLOSURE OF CLIENT INFORMATION
We will not
sell or share any confidential information about you with any affiliate
of The National Bank of Indianapolis.
We will not
sell or share any confidential information about you to any unaffiliated
third party for their independent use or for them to re-sell.
We will not
disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or
former clients to anyone, except as permitted by law.
For example,
we are required to share your financial information with parties
named in a lawsuit or administrative action when we are served with
a subpoena or court order. We also share information with federal
or state regulatory authorities, such as banking examiners or the
Internal Revenue Service, as mandated by federal or state law.
Consistent
with the practice of other financial institutions, we also share
information about you and your accounts with reputable credit reporting
agencies as authorized under federal law.
We may contract
with outside service providers to prepare account statements, furnish
banking software services or provide banking products such as debit
and credit cards for us. These outside service providers agree to
comply with our client confidentiality requirements and must abide
by applicable laws.
AUTHENTIC
COMMUNICATION WITH CLIENTS
To protect
your privacy, The National Bank of Indianapolis cannot accept communications
from someone claiming to represent you unless they are properly
authorized to represent you. We use authentication measures, such
as passwords and access codes, to identify you and safeguard your
personal information. The Bank cannot be responsible for the confidentiality
of your information if you choose to share these passwords or access
codes with others.
