Celebrating 30 Years of Supporting Our Community

THREE INVESTMENTS TO COMMEMORATE THREE DECADES

The National Bank of Indianapolis is celebrating 30 years of service. To commemorate this milestone anniversary, we are reinvesting in the community we call home. Our goal with this investment is to make homeownership in Indianapolis more accessible. We are awarding $30,000 grants to local partners that will secure safe and affordable homes for individuals and families, enabling them to achieve their dreams of homeownership.

We are proud to support the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP) and Arnold Place, Englewood Community Development Corporation for Temple Avenue Townhomes and JEWEL Human Services, a nonprofit that supports the mission of Eastern Star Church and its ROCK Initiative.

Read on for project plans and check back throughout the year for updates.

ARNOLD PLACE

Arnold Place is a 33-unit townhome development in the Reagan Park neighborhood of Indianapolis. The development broke ground in October 2023 and will offer market rate and affordable housing for homebuyers earning up to 80% of area median income.

The Bank’s financial support will reduce project construction costs and expand down payment assistance for homeowners. Bank employees will also volunteer their time to complete a Living the Dream project, which helps prepare homes for families through painting, landscaping and other home improvement tasks.

TEMPLE AVENUE TOWNHOMES

Englewood Community Development Corporation will soon begin construction on Temple Avenue Townhomes, a 13-unit development in the southeast corner of New York Street and Temple Avenue. The development plans to offer homeownership opportunities for community members earning approximately 60% of the area median income. The grant provided by The National Bank of Indianapolis will lower the cost for new homeowners. In addition, the Bank is sponsoring an Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, which was recently awarded to Englewood CDC to support the project.

EASTERN STAR CHURCH

JEWEL Human Services is a nonprofit that supports the mission of Eastern Star Church. The funding from the Bank will provide housing assistance for the ROCK Initiative, which provides affordable housing and community services near the church’s main campus at 30th Street and Arlington Avenue. The nonprofit plans to build five new homes over the next five months.

In addition to these investments, we invited all Bank employees to choose a local nonprofit organization they would like to support with a donation. We then made a $100 contribution on behalf of each employee to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Gleaners Food Bank, Indy Humane Society, HVAF of Indiana and United Way of Central Indiana. A total of $31,900 was donated to help support the important work being done by those organizations and in recognition of their service to our community.

Projects and partners like these are an integral part of our 30 years of success. These developments will provide safe and affordable housing, making our community stronger.

We would like to thank our clients, employees, board members and partners throughout the greater Indianapolis area and beyond. For the last 30 years we have grown with you, and we look forward to continuing to grow and invest in our communities for generations to come.
